Today’s trek is designated for acclimatization while reserving some energy for the summit trek the next day. You will hike towards Mawenzi peak with your guide passing Zebra Rocks. You will then return to the hut for your dinner and overnight stay.
Continue ascending past ‘the last water point’ traversing the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi through the alpine desert zone.
Around midnight you will start your summit trek on a rocky and steep trail to Gilman’s point (5681m), Proceed to Uhuru peak, through a snow-covered trail. Spend few minutes on top, descend to Kibo hut for a short rest, and later to Horombo hut for your last night on the mountain.
Proceed with your descent to the gate, upon arrival complete park formalities and tipping ceremony with the support team. Our driver will then transfer you to Moshi.

Thanks again Francis
And thanks for the Masai blankets
The trip was absolutely perfect! I could use all the adjectives to describe each moment of it, but I would still run out of them. We LOVED every moment of it.
We had the most fantastic trip! It was full of adventure, excitement, some scary bits (lions in the night), and beauty.
We truly enjoyed the trip, and really appreciate your help in organizing the trip, and then modifying the activities for me at last moment. You were helpful and so friendly through the process,
Just wanted to let you know, we had a really great trip! Our flights worked out. Our guide from Timeless Travel was college educated in wildlife management and he was excellent.
Thank you for your contribution to this and for assigning your best guide to this group – it obviously worked!
Hello Francis,
Back to France after a great Tanzania week.
