Mount Kilimanjaro

Roof of Africa

Mount Kilimanjaro

Elevation
5,895 m
Duration
6 – 9 days

The highest free-standing mountain in the world and Africa's tallest peak. From rainforest to alpine desert to the glaciated summit of Uhuru Peak, Kilimanjaro is a walk through five distinct ecological zones — no technical climbing, just patience, breath, and altitude.

  • Choice of Lemosho, Machame, Rongai or Northern Circuit routes
  • Private expedition with senior mountain guides & full porter team
  • Acclimatisation days built in for the highest summit success
  • Sunrise on Uhuru Peak — the rooftop of a continent
Mount Meru

Kilimanjaro's elegant sister

Mount Meru

Elevation
4,566 m
Duration
3 – 4 days
Difficulty
Moderate to demanding

Tanzania's second-highest peak, rising sharply within Arusha National Park. The ascent begins among giraffe, buffalo and colobus monkeys, then climbs a knife-edge crater rim to a summit that stares directly across the plains to Kilimanjaro. Often used as the perfect acclimatisation climb before Kili.

  • Armed ranger escort through the wildlife-rich lower slopes
  • Spectacular ridge walk along the volcanic crater rim
  • Sunrise summit with uninterrupted views of Kilimanjaro
  • Excellent acclimatisation for a subsequent Kilimanjaro climb
Ol Doinyo Lengai

Mountain of God — the only active carbonatite volcano on Earth

Ol Doinyo Lengai

Elevation
2,962 m
Duration
1 – 2 days (overnight ascent)
Difficulty
Strenuous overnight climb

Sacred to the Maasai and unlike any other volcano in the world — Ol Doinyo Lengai erupts uniquely cool, black carbonatite lava that turns white in sunlight. The climb begins at midnight up steep ash slopes, arriving at the smoking crater rim for one of the most surreal sunrises on the African continent.

  • Midnight start under the stars from the Rift Valley floor
  • Steep ash and scree ascent guided by Maasai climbers
  • Active crater views with bubbling natrocarbonatite lava
  • Combine with Lake Natron flamingo flats for a full experience
