Nine days into the wild heart of western Tanzania — combining the open plains of Katavi with the forested shores of Lake Tanganyika, where habituated chimpanzee communities roam the Mahale Mountains.

Day by Day
Days 1–2
Arusha — Katavi
Fly west to one of Africa's wildest, least-visited parks. Afternoon drive through baobab plains.
Days 3–4
Katavi
Full days exploring hippo-packed rivers and resident lion prides — often with no other vehicles in sight.
Day 5
Transfer to Mahale
Scenic flight along Lake Tanganyika to your forest camp at the foot of the Mahale Mountains.
Days 6–8
Chimpanzee tracking
Early mornings into the forest with expert trackers to spend a magical hour with the M-group chimpanzees.
Day 9
Departure
Final lake morning, then flight back via Arusha for onward connections.
